Canada Day @ Minett’s Point
On Canada Day this year, Blake & I picked up Marco and the 3 of us went to Minett’s Point, a beach in the South end of Barrie, where Blake and Marco spun fire and I took photos.
It was a beautiful, warm night and the beach was full of families lighting sparklers and fireworks, hoping to see the big Barrie Canada Day fireworks show, which I guess they didn’t realize was cancelled due to the pandemic. We set up our stuff on a picnic table at the edge of the beach, warned the people around us what we we were going to do, and then the burn began.

By the time she got to us, Marco had already lit his poi and was mid-performance, and since it’d be more dangerous for him to put the poi out, rather than let them burn off, the bylaw officer stood there and enjoyed the show for the few minutes the wicks were lit.
Since we couldn’t burn anymore, we went home, but it was a good night, a night full of hope for burns to come, and a good time was had by all.
