New Book!
My short story, “LOLLAPALOOZA”, is now available in print ($6 US) and Kindle ($0.99!) on everyone’s favourite local Amazon.
“LOLLAPALOOZA” is an 8300 word story about going to Lollapalooza when I was 16, in 1995. I originally wrote it to be part of the larger memoir I’m working on, but it didn’t fit, and I kinda thought it worked as its own, standalone thing. I decided to publish it as a cute, little book to help pay the bills and introduce new readers to my writing.

Since I’m now a real author, with two, real life books out in the world, ratings and reviews on Amazon and Goodreads really mean a lot, sooooo if you felt so inclined after reading one of my books, it would be much appreciated!
“LOLLAPALOOZA” is my first time self publishing real writing, in a physical, purchasable & ownable format since I sold my zines “The Paper Blogs” through my website in 2003-ish, so I’m really nervous about releasing it into the world, where I lose control of the story completely. I mean, people might hate this and regret their purchase and leave me 1-star reviews. I have no idea, so I’m preparing for the worst and not even daring to hope for the best.
Anyway, I hope if you read it, you like it. I worked really hard on both the story itself and the cover design. Patrons got to see the cover come to life in real time – before I even knew I was going to be using it as a cover for anything!
I actually started this drawing in the fall of 2019, using a pencil on paper, but I never finished it and just left it in my portfolio. In the spring of 2020, I realized I could scan that drawing and plop it into my drawing program on the iPad, then trace over it digitally with the Apple Pencil, so I finished my Courtney-inspired rock star. It wouldn’t be until fall 2020 that I’d actually finish it.
I had no idea the finished drawing was gonna be the cover for anything. I just quietly posted it on Patreon, too afraid to even post it on social media for fear of criticism by Courtney fans – or worse – Courtney herself, who I know gets around the internet as I used to be a moderator for the HoleMusic.com forum in the early 2000’s, the official forum for all things Hole and Courtney Love in a time when most bands didn’t have websites at all, let alone forums where they interacted with fans occasionally and the fans built real community. Anyway, she snooped the forums, is what I’m saying, so if I hashtag her name when I put this on Instagram, she could very well see it and that freaks. me. out. So, I doubt I’d do that, but still even without the hashtag, she could see it and not like it or sue me somehow and then like, my heart would break and I wouldn’t probably be very depressed for a long time. So, let’s hope she never sees it and if she does, she likes it. 🙂
