Sometime around 2004, I wanna say, a dude e-mailed me to say that he’d made me something, and sent me this minute and a half long, video montage of hundreds (?) of my webcam photos, set to the music of “Blame Canada” from the South Park movie.

I wish I could remember who made this, but his name, or screen name, is lost to the sands of time. I do recall that he was the webmaster for another camgirl on Camwhores, whose name I believe was Eris or Eris Discordia. It’s completely possible I’m getting mixed up, but those are the loose details that I recall in regards to the original source of this video.

As far as sourcing the photos, the guy who made it either would have had to have saved photos of me daily for years, or he would have had to have gone through my Camwhores archive to find all these photos, which would have been tedious af, considering I’d been updating my cam daily for 3-4 years by that point, so there would have been thousands of photos.

The care and dedication that must have gone into this video in 2003/2004 when I think this was made – when things weren’t as easy to create, when you couldn’t just download an app because smartphones hadn’t been invented yet, and YouTube didn’t exist to pull audio from – remains impressive to me to this day.

This version of the video was edited by Harold to remove 3 or 4 cam pics that had 3-year-old Madison in them, and he re-inserted a few random cam pics in they’re place.

When I started camming, there were no 2257 record keeping compliance laws yet, and you didn’t need to submit ID to be on a cam portal. In fact, cam portal owners would often hijack and use our cam URLs without our permission, so our cams would appear on their portals without compensation or even knowledge. Worse, a lot of them didn’t code their portals very well, so they would leech our bandwidth like crazy, causing some camgirls who paid for their own bandwidth, to have their cams shut off due to not having enough bandwidth, or they’d have astronomical hosting bills at the end of the month if the meter was left running.

Since the internet truly was the “wild wild west” in the early 2000s, most camgirls were under 30, if not under 25, and cam portals were literally being invented and coded by 19 year olds in their moms’ basements, we often didn’t think about the larger repercussions of what we were doing, or what we were doing was so misunderstood by the powers that be, that we were told it was wrong.

I was a single mom, Madison was 3 years old when I started camming, and I didn’t think anything of camming during the day with her in my lap. We weren’t naked when we did this, and I was showing my whole life, not just slinging porn like most camgirls do now, so it never occurred to me that this was a “bad thing” until Portal 9 became Camwhores and an adult pay site, and Kevin, the co-owner of Camwhores, told me not to.

So, in my archive, there are a few very early cam photos that feature Madison, and the guy who made this video included some of them in it, which Harold removed to be more appropriate, and so I could also post this on Fet, Twitter, and MFC Share. The original can be found here.
